October 2025 Findings

What This Month’s Index Shows

October marked the point where autumn fragrances reached their peak and festive scents moved firmly into mainstream demand. Warm spices, bakery notes and Christmas favourites dominated the UK's home fragrance searches.

01

Autumn scents took complete control

Pumpkin Spice, Apple Cinnamon and Bonfire became some of the strongest-performing fragrances as cooler weather drove demand for cosy seasonal scents.

02

Christmas arrived earlier than ever

Gingerbread, Snow Angel, Christmas Spice, Candy Cane and Christmas Tree all entered the Top 20 as festive fragrance shopping accelerated well before November.

03

Summer favourites continued to fade

Pink Sands, Black Coconut and other tropical fragrances lost momentum as consumers increasingly favoured richer, warmer scent profiles.

04

Comfort and luxury remained key themes

Vanilla, Ombre Nomade and Dark Opium continued performing strongly, showing sustained demand for comforting gourmand and premium perfume-inspired fragrances.

Why Trust The Index?

Built From Multiple Demand Signals

The UK Scent Index is designed to be a practical monthly snapshot of home fragrance demand, not just a list of bestsellers.

G

Google Search Behaviour

We consider how people are actively searching for scents, fragrance families and home fragrance products in the UK.

AI Search Trends

We look at emerging AI-led search interest to spot fragrance themes that may be growing before they become obvious elsewhere.

Nuscents Sales Data

Real customer purchasing behaviour helps balance search interest with what people are actually buying.

Market Movement

Seasonality, fragrance families, wider category trends and product demand are reviewed together rather than in isolation.

Methodology

How The Monthly Score Is Calculated

Each scent is given an index score out of 100. The score combines search demand, AI search interest, Nuscents sales data, monthly movement and wider market signals. The result is a balanced view of what the UK appears to be interested in, not just what sold most in one shop.

40% Google search interest
25% AI search demand
