December 2025 Findings

What This Month’s Index Shows

December marked the peak of festive fragrance demand, but not every Christmas scent continued rising. Snow Angel, Christmas Tree and Orange & Clove surged, while earlier-season favourites such as Pumpkin Spice, Bonfire Night and Gingerbread began to tail off after their autumn and November peaks.

01

Christmas scents reached their seasonal peak

Snow Angel, Christmas Tree, Christmas Spice, Candy Cane and Orange & Clove became the strongest-performing fragrance themes as festive home fragrance buying reached its highest point.

02

Some festive favourites started to level off

Gingerbread remained one of the biggest scents overall, but its momentum softened slightly after a very strong November as shoppers moved towards more classic Christmas tree, citrus and gifting-led fragrances.

03

Autumn scents dropped sharply

Pumpkin Spice, Bonfire Night and autumn-style spice fragrances tailed off heavily once Halloween and Bonfire Night demand had fully passed.

04

Clean and comfort scents held steady

Fresh Linen, Clean Cotton, Baby Powder and Vanilla remained strong as households refreshed their homes for guests, gifting and colder indoor-focused weeks.

Why Trust The Index?

Built From Multiple Demand Signals

The UK Scent Index is designed to be a practical monthly snapshot of home fragrance demand, not just a list of bestsellers.

G

Google Search Behaviour

We consider how people are actively searching for scents, fragrance families and home fragrance products in the UK.

AI Search Trends

We look at emerging AI-led search interest to spot fragrance themes that may be growing before they become obvious elsewhere.

Nuscents Sales Data

Real customer purchasing behaviour helps balance search interest with what people are actually buying.

Market Movement

Seasonality, fragrance families, wider category trends and product demand are reviewed together rather than in isolation.

Methodology

How The Monthly Score Is Calculated

Each scent is given an index score out of 100. The score combines search demand, AI search interest, Nuscents sales data, monthly movement and wider market signals. The result is a balanced view of what the UK appears to be interested in, not just what sold most in one shop.
