April 2025 Findings
April saw fresh and clean fragrances firmly establish themselves as the UK's favourite scent profiles. Spring cleaning remained a major influence, while seasonal florals reached their annual peak and the first signs of summer fragrance trends began to emerge.
Fresh Linen held onto the number one position for a second consecutive month, while Spring Awakening and Clean Cotton completed an all-laundry top three as cleaning-inspired scents remained exceptionally popular.
Cherry Blossom climbed into the Top 5, while Peony and Jasmine & Patchouli also gained further momentum as floral demand peaked across the UK.
Pink Sands remained one of the fastest-growing fragrances, while Coconut and Fresh Meadows entered the Top 20 as shoppers started looking ahead to warmer weather.
Rose, Alien and Baccarat Rouge 540 all slipped further, while richer sweet fragrances gave way to lighter, cleaner and more uplifting home fragrance trends.
Why Trust The Index?
The UK Scent Index is designed to be a practical monthly snapshot of home fragrance demand, not just a list of bestsellers.
We consider how people are actively searching for scents, fragrance families and home fragrance products in the UK.
We look at emerging AI-led search interest to spot fragrance themes that may be growing before they become obvious elsewhere.
Real customer purchasing behaviour helps balance search interest with what people are actually buying.
Seasonality, fragrance families, wider category trends and product demand are reviewed together rather than in isolation.
Methodology
Each scent is given an index score out of 100. The score combines search demand, AI search interest, Nuscents sales data, monthly movement and wider market signals. The result is a balanced view of what the UK appears to be interested in, not just what sold most in one shop.
