August 2025 Findings
August showed late-summer scent behaviour settling in. Fresh beach-inspired fragrances stayed strong, tropical fruits remained popular, and early signs of richer perfume-inspired scents began to appear ahead of autumn.
Pink Sands held the number one position, while Rock Salt & Driftwood climbed into second place as coastal and holiday-inspired fragrances continued to lead the index.
Coconut, Mango, Pineapple and Watermelon all remained high in the rankings, showing that fruity summer fragrances still had strong late-season demand.
Fresh Linen, Clean Cotton and Fresh Unstoppables all moved down as summer fragrance demand continued to outperform traditional fresh-clean profiles.
Ombre Nomade entered the Top 20 as the fragrance became more widely recognised, hinting at an early shift towards deeper perfume-inspired scents ahead of autumn.
Why Trust The Index?
The UK Scent Index is designed to be a practical monthly snapshot of home fragrance demand, not just a list of bestsellers.
We consider how people are actively searching for scents, fragrance families and home fragrance products in the UK.
We look at emerging AI-led search interest to spot fragrance themes that may be growing before they become obvious elsewhere.
Real customer purchasing behaviour helps balance search interest with what people are actually buying.
Seasonality, fragrance families, wider category trends and product demand are reviewed together rather than in isolation.
Methodology
Each scent is given an index score out of 100. The score combines search demand, AI search interest, Nuscents sales data, monthly movement and wider market signals. The result is a balanced view of what the UK appears to be interested in, not just what sold most in one shop.
