Scented Candle Product Care

Candle care isn’t just about safety (though that’s a biggie)—it’s also about getting the most from your burn, your scent, and your money. Here’s how to make sure your candle behaves:

First things first – safety:

  • Never leave a lit candle unattended. Sounds obvious, but it’s always worth saying.

  • Keep out of reach of children, pets, or anything that’s likely to get too curious.

  • Avoid placing your candle near draughts, windows, or anything flammable.

Where to burn it:

  • Always place your candle on a heatproof, level surface—or a proper candle holder.

  • Container candles can get hot—don’t touch or move them while lit or freshly blown out. Let them cool fully first.

Candle maintenance 101:

  • Trim your wick to about 1cm before lighting or relighting. It helps the flame stay steady and clean.

  • Keep your candle wax free from dust, matches, or bits of burnt wick—any of that can affect how it burns.

  • If you’re burning more than one candle, give them space—at least 10cm between each one to avoid overheating.

For the perfect first burn:

  • Let the melt pool reach the edges of the jar the first time you burn it. It’ll help your candle burn evenly and stop that annoying tunnelling thing.

And when you're done:

  • Blow it out gently, and always with care. Snuffers are ideal, but if you’re blowing it out, make sure the wick stays upright and centred.
